As well as many other carriers, Finnair is preparing some updates to their business class cabin to present in 2018. Finnair’s Airbus350 updated business class with a new Nordic design will be available starting from February. The carrier has changed everything starting from cabin textile and finishing with new “dine on demand” feature. David Kondo, Finnair’s Head of Cabin Interior Development, describes the designs having an aesthetic touch, inspired by Nordic homes and landscapes.
Refreshed Seats
Most noteworthy, the new Finnair business class textiles are said to be comfortable, clean and minimalistic in all aspects, which is quite typical of Nordic interior design. Certainly, color palette sticks to soft landscape colors, like grey, white, light pink or orange, similarly to a sunset.

Nordic Inpired Design
As David Kondo explains, these all are shades of Nordic daylight. “With Nordic-inspired design throughout the entire cabin, our aim is for our guests to be treated to a travel experience that soothes the senses and clears the mind. Our new seat textiles and comfort amenities have a fresh and modern aesthetic that is inspired by Nordic homes and landscapes.”

Furthermore, the cushions and throws will also receive a refreshed look, with the familiar “Marimekko” brand design, turning into darker blue color. Also, this shade of blue will also be repeated on new amenity kits and tableware.

Finnair Business Class Dine on Demand
In 2018, Finnair will be rolling out a new dining feature for long haul business class flyers: Finnair Dine on Demand. Furthermore, the new service will be available from February 7 on flights to Seoul Incheon, also to Tokyo Narita, and finally, to Shanghai, and will be gradually introduced to other destinations till the end of summer. So here’s what Finnair’s SVP of Customer Experience said about this new service:

Moreover, as part of its renovated dining service, Finnair is also introducing the classic Finnish tradition “Kahvikutsut”. Kahvikutsut is a coffee break, accompanied by seven different traditional treats. Most noteworthy, the coffee service allows customers to spend their time enjoying traditional Finnish treats. For instance, the typical Finish treats are Carelian pies, cinnamon buns, coffee cake, chocolates etc. Above all, this novelty will be available during long-haul flights departing from Asia in the morning.
