United, currently operating four Polaris lounges across the U.S., launched their fifth premium lounge in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Starting January 12, 2019, United Polaris Business and First Class flyers will be able to experience the top airport product before departing on long-haul international flights. Did you know that Business Class as a separate cabin hasn’t been around for that long?

At first, Economy Class started to separate from First Class, and later, within a few years, the air travel industry started to feel higher pressure and competition between airlines. With the large gap between the two, First Class travel was not accessible to those who usually traveled with the Economy. And for those who would agree to pay a bit more than the Economy to get better seats had no options. Business Class, in simple words, was created to offer something in-between for those who would pay more to travel in comfort, but not as much as for First Class.

As well as many other carriers, Finnair is preparing some updates to their business class cabin to present in 2018. Finnair’s Airbus350 updated business class with a new Nordic design will be available starting from February. The carrier has changed everything starting from cabin textile and finishing with new “dine on demand” feature. David Kondo, Finnair’s Head of Cabin Interior Development, describes the designs having an aesthetic touch, inspired by Nordic homes and landscapes.
