Singapore Airlines New Business Class and First Class: What to Expect

HomeAirlinesSingapore Airlines New Business Class and First Class: What to Expect

Singapore Airlines’ new business class goes on show on Friday, November 6, alongside a new first class suite. In fact, it is the airline’s most significant cabin reveal in a long time, because the seat it replaces dates back to 2013. It also arrives just weeks after Skytrax named Singapore Airlines the World’s Best Airline for 2026, so expectations are high.

However, you can’t fly the new business class yet. Instead, the airline expects its first aircraft to enter service in the first quarter of 2027. Below, we explain what Singapore Airlines has confirmed, why expectations are high, and how to plan a premium trip around the new cabins. If you’d like to picture today’s cabin first, see our guide to what business class is like on Singapore Airlines.

Why Expect a Lot From Singapore Airlines’ New Business Class

Singapore Airlines has a strong record with passengers. On 18 September 2026, Skytrax named it the World’s Best Airline for the sixth time, based on more than 24.8 million survey responses covering over 300 airlines. The airline also won World’s Best Economy Class, World’s Best Economy Class Onboard Catering and Best Airline in Asia.

The premium cabins add to that record. In 2025, for example, Skytrax named Singapore Airlines World’s Best First Class and Best First Class Seat, and it also won World’s Best Airline Cabin Staff. However, business class is a tough category: Qatar Airways won World’s Best Business Class for 2026, so the new seat has a high bar to clear. That track record on service, food and cabin staff is why we expect the new cabins to be worth the wait. To see how the field compares, read our roundup of the best business class airlines.

Singapore Airlines’ New Business Class: What’s Revealed and When You Can Fly (t

Singapore Airlines has confirmed the unveiling for Friday, 6 November 2026, and it will hold a separate event for its top frequent flyers the following day. Meanwhile, the new seats form part of a S$1.1 billion refit of 41 Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Not every A350 gets the same cabin, so the details matter:

A350-900 ultra-long-range (the aircraft used for the Singapore–New York nonstop)7Yes (70 seats)Yes (4 suites)Not yet announced

Singapore Airlines also plans the same designs for the Boeing 777-9, but the delivery date remains unconfirmed. However, the program originally targeted mid-2026. The airline blamed the delay on industry-wide supply chain constraints and the certification of one of the new seats.

Singapore Airlines has not yet named the first route for the new business class. Until then, we will update this post as soon as the airline shares its launch plans.

The New Cabins, In Plain Language

Singapore Airlines has already shown much of the new cabins in its annual report and teaser videos. However, the airline publishes full specifications on Friday, so we will update this post then.

New Business Class Suite: More Privacy and a Simpler Bed

Overall, the new Singapore Airlines business class is a clear step forward in privacy and sleep comfort. It replaces a 2013 seat with a bed you flip over by hand.

  • A door. Every suite will have a sliding privacy door and high walls, in a 1-2-1 layout with every seat facing forward.
  • A bed that reclines flat. The seat moves straight into a bed, so there is no flipping, and you sleep parallel to the aisle rather than at an angle.
  • A bigger screen and modern connections. Each seat also has a 22-inch 4K OLED screen, Bluetooth audio, wireless charging and USB-C power.

Singapore Airlines New First Class: Four Suites On Very Few Aircraft

The new first class suite is for the seven ultra-long-range A350s only, so each aircraft has just four suites. Each suite will also have French doors, three windows with electric blinds, a 32-inch 4K OLED screen, a full bed, and an ottoman for dining with a companion. Passengers also get Bang & Olufsen wireless headphones.

What Singapore Airlines Has Already Announced

  • First, the airline will serve more than 100 new and refreshed dishes across all cabins, with new Christofle tableware in Suites, first and business class.
  • Also, business class gets pajamas for the first time, plus new amenity kits from BYREDO (business) and Sisley (first and Suites).
  • In addition, first class gets a refreshed ground experience at Changi Airport, including a personal concierge and table service in the lounge.
  • Finally, the airline is redesigning KrisWorld, its entertainment system, and adding Starlink satellite Wi-Fi from the first quarter of 2027.

The new kits should start rolling out from November on longer flights, but our guide to the current Singapore Airlines business class amenity kit shows what the cabin offers today.

Who This Is For

Singapore Airlines’ new business class matters most to travelers who put arriving rested ahead of everything else: long-haul leisure flyers, couples marking a special trip, and anyone for whom getting in and out of a seat is a real consideration. A staggered, forward-facing suite with a bed that reclines flat may also be easier to use than a seat you have to flip. If mobility is a concern, tell your travel manager early, because the seat the airline gives you matters.

However, a few things deserve attention before you plan around it:

  • It isn’t flying yet. The airline expects the first aircraft in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals, so a plan that depends on that date can slip.
  • The rollout will take years. Singapore Airlines plans these seats only for the A350-900 refit and the future 777-9. As a result, other aircraft, including the A380 with its 2017 Suites and business class, keep their current cabins for now.
  • Aircraft can change. Airlines swap aircraft for operational reasons, so a flight that should carry the new seat may not operate with it. Therefore, confirm closer to departure.
  • First class is rare. Because there are only four suites on seven aircraft, you will not find it on most routes, at least at first.
  • Other cabins get a refresh, not a new seat. For example, if you travel with someone in premium economy or economy, expect updated entertainment and upholstery rather than a new seat.

Our honest advice: don’t hold a trip you want to take in 2027 hostage to a seat that hasn’t flown yet. As the Skytrax results show, Singapore Airlines’ current cabins earn consistently high praise, so a great flight on an existing product beats a long wait for a new one. How To Plan a Trip Around Singapore Airlines’ New Business Class

This is where a real person helps more than a search box, because airlines publish which flights carry a new seat only gradually. Also, schedules can change after you book.

  1. Tell us what matters most. The right flight depends on your priorities, not just the aircraft, so tell us about sleep, privacy, traveling as a couple, or easier movement around the cabin.
  2. We compare, so you don’t have to. Your Personal Travel Manager can check which Singapore Airlines flights will carry the new cabins once the airline publishes them, and then compare those with other airlines on your route.
  3. Choose your timing. If your dates are flexible, we can also talk through whether it is worth planning around the new seats or flying a proven product sooner.
  4. Make a stop of it. For example, Singapore is an easy stopover on longer trips to Australia and Southeast Asia, and a travel manager can build that routing into one journey.

Share the trip you want to take and we’ll look at Singapore Airlines business class flights alongside other airlines on your route. You’ll get a short call to fine-tune the itinerary, then tailored options by email to review at your own pace. New to booking this way? Here’s how booking with Skylux works.
